Upcoming EarthServer Events and Workshops

EarthServer is running a series of workshops and training events across Europe throughout the next couple of months. The focus of the workshops is to show the benefits of standardised Web Coverage Services and to give hands-on examples   how they can be integrated into existing geospatial data workflows.  The workshops are fully hands-on and all course materials will be provided as Jupyter Python [more info] notebooks.

EarthServer provides access to Open Climate and Air Quality Data for #OpenDataHack at ECMWF

Over 70 developers, data wranglers, scientists and data enthusiasts came to #OpenDataHack @ECMWF on 4 and 5 March 2017 to explore creative uses of open weather and climate data from ECMWF and the three Copernicus services: the Climate Change Service (C3S), the Atmospheric Monitoring Service (CAMS) and the Emergency Management Service (EMS).

OGC Confirms rasdaman Compliance with Datacube Extension Standards


Mayland/USA, January 2017 - OGC officially confirms that rasdaman has achieved compliance certification on a number of important extensions to the OGC "Big Datacube" standard, Web Coverage Service (WCS).

Brussels, December 2017 - “The EarthServer-2 project has successfully completed its second milestone and has made significant progress towards the eventual aim of producing a comprehensive big data analytics platform for Earth Science”, the European Commission currently attested on the occasion of project´s midterm review performed in Brussels.

January 2017 - Starting 2017, rasdaman is full member of the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC), a not-for-profit association promoting Earth Observation (EO) technology especially from European companies. Monica Miguel-Lago expressed that EARSC "are delighted to accept your company as new EARSC full Member".



December 2016 - Last month INSPIRE officially adopted the OGC Web Coverage Service (WCS) as INSPIRE Coverage Download Service. Jordi Escriu, Facilitator of the corresponding Thematic Cluster 3, calls "WCS the natural way to deliver and exploit coverage data".
